
About Miguel Zenón
Grammy Winner, Doris Duke Artist and Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow Miguel Zenón represents a select group of musicians who have masterfully balanced and blended the often-contradictory poles of innovation and tradition. Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential saxophonists and composers of his generation, he has also developed a unique voice as a conceptualist, concentrating his efforts on perfecting a fine mix between jazz and his many musical influences.
Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Zenón has released seventeen recordings as a leader, including his latest Golden City (2024), the Grammy-winning album El Arte Del Bolero Vol. 2 (2023) and the Grammy-nominated Música De Las Américas (2022), Sonero: The Music of Ismael Rivera (2019) and Yo Soy La Tradición (2018). He has worked with luminaries such as The SFJAZZ Collective, Charlie Haden, Fred Hersch, Kenny Werner, David Sánchez, Danilo Perez, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, Kurt Elling, Joey Calderazzo, Steve Coleman, Ray Barreto, Andy Montañez, Jerry Gonzalez & The Fort Apache Band, The Mingus Big Band and Bobby Hutcherson.
In 2023 he was recognized by the same organization as the Composer of the Year. As a composer he has been commissioned by SFJAZZ, NYO Jazz, The New York State Council on the Arts, Chamber Music America, Logan Center for The Arts, The Hyde Park Jazz Festival, The John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, MIT, Spektral Quartet, Miller Theater, The Hewlett Foundation, Peak Performances, PRISM Quartet and many of his peers. Zenón has given hundreds of lectures and master classes at institutions all over the world and is a faculty member in the Music & Theater Arts Department at MIT, as well as the current Visiting
Scholar for the Harmony and Jazz Composition Department at Berklee College of Music.

About Luis Perdomo
Originally from Venezuela, Grammy® nominated pianist, composer, arranger and educator Luis Perdomo moved to NYC in the early 90s and has since established himself as one of the most in-demand musicians on the scene. He has recorded and/or performed with Ravi Coltrane, David Sanchez, Jerry Gonzalez and the Fort Apache Band, Tom Harrell, John Patitucci, Ray Barretto, Brian Lynch, Robin Eubanks, Dave Douglas, David Weiss and The Cookers, David Gilmore, Ralph Irizarry & Timbalaye, Henry Threadgill and Steve Turre. He has collaborated with Miguel Zenón for 20 years. Perdomo has performed at festivals and venues in over 50 countries and has released nine recordings as a leader. He has also appeared on over 175 recordings as a sideman including, most recently, Ravi Coltrane’s Grammy nominated Spirit Fiction, David Sanchez’s “Carib”, and Miguel Zenón’s Sonero.

About Kali Rodríguez-Peña
Latin-Grammy nominated Cuban trumpeter and composer Kali Rodríguez-Peña has led his own bands in top venues and festivals in North America and performed with renowned musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Arturo O’Farrill, Paquito D’Rivera, Chucho Valdés, Michel Camilo, David Murray, and Esperanza Spalding. In 2023 he was a recipient of Harlem Stage’s WaterWork Emerging Artists cohort.
After winning top prizes at Havana’s JoJazz competition, he attended the prestigious Manhattan School of Music where he studied under the tutelage of Jon Faddis and Stefon Harris. The music from his album Mélange (2022) is featured on the TV show “Let The Right One In” by television network Showtime.
Kalí also participated in the albums “Familia” by Arturo O’Farrill and Chucho Valdés, Michel Camilo’s latest release “Essence,” and Pedrito Martínez’ “Acertijos.” He has been a guest lecturer at the University of California, Riverside, and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem.
