GRADES 9–12

Plan for Paradise is a performance workshop that creatively explores identity, community responsibility and manifesting one’s purpose. Participants will engage in a series of interactive activities and a guided discussion designed to create an environment that supports increased self-actualization, awareness and producing a comprehensive creative response to their experiences. Students will watch, listen and engage as Soul Science Lab presents a mix of original material and multimedia excerpts from renowned artist who dared to Plan for Paradise, such as Nina Simone, Malcolm X, Sun Ra and Fela Kuti. The session culminates with students sharing their interpretation of what it means to plan for Paradise, and how these ideas can become reality.
