THE DEADLIEST DISEASE IN AMERICA

Health care reform is a topic of much discussion in today’s headlines. President Obama’s initiatives are being challenged and criticized on a daily basis. Of primary concern is coverage for all Americans. However, much to the dismay of many practitioners and consumers, none of these discussions include the prevailing issue of documented disparities within the system based on racial and ethnic difference.  The Deadliest Disease in America explores the issue of disparities based on difference in the U.S. health care system as it follows the real-life stories of four individuals, each whom have experienced racism while seeking medical care, and three health care organizations where change is already becoming a reality.

Screening followed by workshop and Q&A with filmmaker and reception.
