June is busting out all over! Though it’s been feeling like August many days lately, this is just the first day of summer and just a step over the solstice. So, everyone, have a blessed summer.
As I look back on this very busy month, even as I prepare for our last events this weekend, I can’t help but smile through the exhaustion. It’s been an amazing year of programming and this month was full of great partnerships.
EVIDENCE celebrates 25 years of glorious dance!
Just yesterday we had the last of four performances celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Evidence, A Dance Company – Ron Brown, Artistic Director. This was yet another partnership for us. It was a glorious four days of work going back to the early 90s. Ron held a special Father’s Day workshop for boys and their fathers or male mentors on Saturday and presented his latest work honoring the legacy passed down through generations with Two-Year Old Gentleman on Father’s Day. It was great to have the company back at Harlem Stage. We wish them every success for the next 25 years.
