Dancing Spirit of Haiti

Bengi Jolicoeur(pretty heart) was a magnificent dancer, a loving soul and a dear friend. We had the honor of having him open a concert we presented two years ago of Emeline Michel, the great Haitian singer. When he danced the invocation on our stage, he broke our hearts; his every gesture flowed from a place deep within him, deep within spirit.  He touched the Divine.

Like so many others, he lost his life in the Haitian earthquake.  He was doing what he loved – teaching young children to dance.  Sadly, two children went with him.

We will always remember Bengi and we will continue to pray for the people of Haiti and support them in any way we can.  Perhaps the heartbreak we feel allows us to open our humanity that much more as we navigate a troubled world.
